Ranking Every Season Of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia From Worst To Best
9. Season 2
The second season of Sunny sees the addition of Frank Reynolds into the mix. In this season he is introduced as Dennis and Dee's father, and is much more well-mannered than the Frank of recent seasons. Over the course of the show's run, Frank turns into the disgusting and vile man we all know and love, but back in his early years he was more of a wannabe role model to the gang than one of their own.
While Frank still did some awful things in Season 2 like pretending to be crippled to gain the attention of strippers and heading the water-stain scam from "The Gang Exploits a Miracle," it's nothing compared to the character in recent seasons.
This is a season that feels more true to form for the rest of the gang however, as they seem to be much more comfortable being awful people than in the debut season. It also features some absolute classics like "Dennis and Dee Go on Welfare" and "Hundred Dollar Baby." On the opposite side of the spectrum it also features a couple absolutely forgettable episodes like "Dennis and Dee Get a New Dad" and "Charlie Goes America All Over Everyone's Ass."
It's a hit or miss season in some places, and while every episode certainly has its quotable moments, there's some certain weak links among them.
