5. Matt LeBlanc
LeBlanc’s quality control is little better than Perry’s if at all, but the longevity of some of his projects put him above his former roommate. Joey was given the nod for the spinoff treatment, and while this was nothing short of rotten (despite the presence of Adrianna from The Sopranos), he impressively eked a further three years out of the character.
Better was Episodes, another inside Hollywood show but with a self depreciative streak that made it far less irritating. LeBlanc played himself as a floundering goofball and proved game for a laugh, consistently the best part of the surprisingly long running series.
In the UK he regained prominence as a host of the post-Clarkson Top Gear, and proved himself an enjoyable light entertainment presence. A motorhead and an affable chap, he could do this in his sleep, but it was an impressive job nonetheless.
He has recently finished the fourth and final season of Man With A Plan, in which the comfortably middle aged LeBlanc plays a doofus dad. It’s low energy stuff, but its significant episode count proves audiences’ continuing appetite for Joey.
