6. Sean Harris
Sean Harris was recently cast as the haunting and somewhat tragic gunman, Stephen Morton in Channel 4's Southcliffe. Harris, of 24 Hour Party People and Prometheus fame, had previously worked on Red Riding, as the monstrous titular Creep and the unstable and villainous Moors murderer Ian Brady in the BAFTA Award-winning See No Evil: The Moors Murders. In 2011 Harris starred as the villainous Mr. Kidd in A Lonely Place To Die, a tale five mountaineers hiking through the Scottish Highlands who come across a Serbian girl who has been kidnapped. Soon the kidnappers (one of whom is Mr. Kidd) come after the group. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=52Bc7Qc6tJ8&feature=player_detailpage Harris has had a career of playing sinister characters, who in some cases have underlying fragility or severe delusion. He was perfectly cast in Southcliffe and could emulate the same for Ripper Street, definitely as an episodic villain, be-it a gangster or even psychotic murderer.
