Riverdale: Ranking All The Main Characters From Worst To Best
5. Betty Cooper
The resident detective of Riverdale, Betty Cooper is the show's ultimate problem solver. Always down for a good mystery, she has throughout the show's first four seasons been the light radiating through the darkness of the town. She saved Cheryl, figured out the mystery of the Black Hood, saved Jughead's dad from jail and always, always, always tries to do what is right.
In that sense, she kind of mirrors Archie, in that she's constantly hoping to do the right thing and stick up for what she believes in, even when the writing decides to make her go "dark" and, quite frankly, painfully cringe-worthy.
Yes, Betty has moments where she can be a lot to take, and her angst (especially in earlier seasons) was more awkward than it was compelling, but in the end Betty is exactly the character the show needs, willing to jump head first into trouble and do all she can to save the day.
