24. Polly Cooper

Betty's sister, Polly was at the center of the show's debut mystery as it was her relationship with Jason Blossom that ultimately resulted in the latter's father killing him - robbing her of a life with her one true love and her unborn babies of their father. Naturally, she found herself stuck in the middle of the aftermath, as the involved families wrestled for control of her and the twins.

Betty's intervention resulted in her clawing her way out of that hell, and it would have been better if the show had just written her out then and there because, in all honesty, what came next for the character is both insignificant and infuriating.

Called upon by the writers to show up and turn Betty's life upside down whenever they want her to, Polly became less like herself with each passing scene, spouting mindless rubbish about The Farm and then even turning on her sister because she spoke ill of Edgar Evernever. Though it could have seemed plausible with character development, it wasn't to be and, as a result, Polly has been reduced to nothing more than a plot device that just doesn't make sense anymore.
