Russian Doll: How Many Times Does Nadia Die?

7. Episode 2

Russian Doll Natasha Lyonne

The second episode has by far the highest body count of the season.

It's also worth noting that in the series' sixth episode, Alan casually mentions a number of his prior deaths - slipped in the shower, bathtub electrocution, open manhole - and we can probably assume that at least a few of them took place during this episode.

Death #3: Nadia is on the phone with her ex-boyfriend John (Yul Vazquez) when she falls down the open trap door of a nearby bar, presumably succumbing to massive head injuries or a broken neck.

Death #4: Mere minutes later, Nadia falls foul of the very same trap door again while chasing down Alan and his pal Ferran (Ritesh Rajan).

Deaths #5-8: Once back at the party, Nadia now struggles to leave her apartment complex in one piece, bumping into people and tumbling down the stairs three times, before finally being knocked over the balcony.

Death #9: Nadia is being transported to a hospital in an ambulance following concern from her therapist and family friend Ruth (Elizabeth Ashley).

But when Nadia kicks up a fuss in the back, the ambulance driver gets distracted, crashing into a van which presumably kills at least Nadia and the two EMTs in the back, none of whom were wearing seat-belts.
