Russian Doll: How Many Times Does Nadia Die?

4. Episode 5

Russian Doll Natasha Lyonne
Netflix

Death #13: Nadia is hanging out in Ruth's home when Ruth ignites the hob with a lighter, which creates a spark and causes a bad CGI explosion, incinerating them both. Moments later once the loop resets, Alan tells Nadia that he died in a bike accident.

Death #14: While angrily on the phone with Beatrice, Alan carelessly walks into traffic and is hit by a car. Once the loop resets, Nadia tells Alan that she died in another gas explosion.

Death #15: In one of the show's most hilarious deaths, Alan ends up suffering a fatal asthma attack after two hysterical (and possibly drunk?) women spray him with mace, while Nadia is shot dead by Ruth, who mistakes her for a burglar. Oops.

After this, we actually get aural confirmation from Nadia and Alan that they've both indeed died 15 times, making things decidedly less of a headache for anyone keeping score at home.

Death #16: Just as Nadia and Alan realise that they're dying at the same time, they're both killed by a falling air conditioning unit (cue more bad CGI).
