Season One Recap
- A young woman - Amanda Tanner - steps forward, claiming to have had an affair with incumbent President Fitzgerald Grant. Olivia tries to silence her to protect Amanda from leaking news of the affair to the press. Unfortunately an emotionally unstable Amanda tries to commit suicide shortly after and Olivia takes responsibility, offering to shelter the young woman and take her on as a client of Pope & Associates. - In flashbacks, Olivia's relationship with Fitz is explored, revealing they found kindred spirits in one another but called it off after Olivia realised their love could never come to anything good. - However, the White House soon learns of this - and Tanner's pregnancy - and someone hires off-the-books agent/assassin Charlie to kidnap and kill Tanner. - Quinn, having formed a relationship with reporter Gideon, is shocked when he is killed, forcing the team to cover it up. - However, it's later revealed that the father of the baby is the Vice President's Chief of Staff, Billy Chambers and the scheme was engineered by Chambers to get Vice President Sally Langston elected as Commander-In-Chief. Unfortunately this plan went awry when Amanda was killed (by Cyrus Beene in order to protect President Grant). Gideon was about to expose the whole story, forcing Chambers to kill him. Chambers is later publicly taken down by Langston and killed by Charlie on the orders of Huck. - In the end, Quinn is approached by David Rosen and FBI agents in front of Olivia and her team, arresting her for an unknown crime. Rosen asks if Olivia wants to tell the team what Quinn has done or if he should. Olivia looks guilty as hell but ready to tell.
