7. Michael Groff's Slow Rise To Redemption
Avid TV watchers have seen their fair share of dastardly villains over the years. There have been evil monsters, jealous narcissists, sociopathic kings and plenty more. But, sometimes, the most compelling baddie is someone believable and real. That is what made Michael Groff such a great antagonist in the show's first two seasons.
The father of Adam Groff and principal of Moordale was an emotionally stifled man with a fear of anything progressive. Thus, he was the perfect foil to the sexual and emotional liberation of the characters. However, season three brought about an entirely new version of the character.
Throughout his time in the show, there were seeds planted that Michael was insecure and emotionally vulnerable, which came to a head after he lost his job at Moordale. Seeing him without a purpose in the third season painted him way more sympathetically and showed as he tried to become a better person.
It's still easy to dislike Michael, thanks to what he's done to Adam and the school. Still, everyone loves a good redemption arc, and Michael Groff is on track for an amazing one.
