Sharp Objects Ending Explained

1. What Happened To Camille?

Sharp Objects

Sharp Objects ends on a chilling note, as Camille realises that her own sister was responsible for the killings, however the writers leave it up to the viewer's own imagination as to what happens after that chilling reveal. Prior to the scene it's made clear that Camille is improving after confronting her past, growing close to her sister, giving up drinking and in recovery from years of self-harm. Losing another sister would no doubt throw all this once again into disarray.

The book doesn't end where the series does, however, and actually explores just how the revelation effects Camille. It doesn't paint a pretty picture; the journalist relapses and falls deeper into self-destruction, worrying that the "sickness" infecting her family is doomed to reach her as well, eventually having to be taken in by Curry and his wife and nursed back to health.

We don't see the fallout in the show itself, and it's left up to viewers to decide what happens, but it's easy to see it being just as bleak as in the source material.
