She-Hulk: Attorney At Law Episode Eight Review - 8 Ups & 0 Downs
He's back, and it's just as glorious as you'd imagined.
Let’s be honest, this was the episode fans have been waiting for ever since a certain vigilante from Hell’s Kitchen was revealed in the trailer. His helmet was seen way back at the end of episode five, but nothing more was seen until ‘Ribbit and Rip It’.
While this excitement is understandable to say the least, it’s fair to say that She-Hulk: Attorney at Law has earned this kind of reaction. Though it has been a very cameo-heavy series in general, this wasn’t a gratuitous bit of fan service for the sake of it.
The series has built itself up to a point where a Daredevil appearance can come and though it was absolutely the talking point of the episode, it didn’t steal the spotlight from Jen. The lead character was still prominent throughout, and there was far more to this entry in the first season than just the return of a classic character.
As the last episode before the season finale, episode eight perfectly set up an explosive finale, it showed a brand new side to She-Hulk, and even made the time to give yet another middle finger to the small toxic portion of its audience. Honestly, it’s difficult to find fault in what was easily the best episode of the series so far.
8. Up - Matt Murdock
Let’s get to this particular Up straight away, as we all knew it would land here even before the episode dropped. Though his appearance in She-Hulk may not be his triumphant return to the MCU after first showing his face in Spider-Man: No Way Home, this was still ridiculously highly anticipated.
From as early as the announcement of She-Hulk, fans theorised that she could sit opposite Matt Murdock in the courtroom one day, and this was that day. He dramatically came through the doors fashionably late, cracked a joke, and set about legally kicking Jen’s ass.
Not only did he demonstrate that he is one hell of a lawyer, particularly with his own secret identity on the line, but Matt’s interactions with Jen outside of the courtroom were arguably even better. He was charming, he was funny, and it’s easy to see why he was doing it for Jen.
Fans had every right to be worried about how the far more comedic She-Hulk: Attorney at Law would handle the typically dark and gritty Man Without Fear, but there can be few complaints after this episode. Everything just worked, and not just as Matt Murdock…
