Sherlock: 10 Most Hated Episodes

5. The Blind Banker

Sherlock The Final Problem
BBC

Season One of Sherlock started off strongly with the absolutely fantastic pilot A Study in Pink — and immediately saw a serious decline with the second offering The Blind Banker. Luckily, the show would then go on to give us great episodes such as The Reichenbach Fall and A Scandal in Belgravia, but The Blind Banker was such a first season dud that some fans even admit the outing almost made them want to quit the series.

This hour and a half is not only filled with clichés and deus ex machinas but cheap Chinese stereotypes as well. Even that aside, the entire thing is just slow, boring, and even a bit all over the place. A Study in Pink was certainly a hard act to follow, but this one would've been bad no matter what preceded it due to its dull storyline and lack of suspense.

Really, The Blind Banker feels like nothing more than filler, and when you're watching a series with only three outings per season, a filler episode is the last thing you want to watch. That's what we got anyway, making The Blind Banker easily the worst of the first season.
