6. Plenty To Focus On
As touched upon earlier, there is a treasure trove of dramatic content for season 3. John was clearly distraught over his friend's "death", and the writers have stated that he will not react favorably to the news that this was all a lie. Moreover if the show is going to follow the canon, then Holmes will have been gone for three years. This time apart is likely to accentuate the dramatic tension between our two heroes, as there will be anger and resentment from John at not having been told earlier. Rounding out the rest of the season are episodes based on the sign of the four and his last bow, stories that are some of Conan Doyle's personal favourites. The former is a very important tale as it commences the relationship between Watson and his future wife Mary Morstan. If indeed John is to fall in love and get married, then this will be yet another point of contention between doctor and detective.
