Sherlock: 18 Best Moments (In Gifs)

16. The Bomb On The Tube

The return of Sherlock Holmes saw one of his most challenging threats yet, as the super-sleuth and sidekick John came face to face with a bomb on the London Underground. The scene in which Sherlock tries to deactivate the bomb however focussed not on the evil scheme of Lord Moran, but on the relationship between John and Sherlock. As the pair face certain death, John reflects upon the return of his best friend, and forgives him for faking his death. And as it turns out, Sherlock knew how to defuse it all along. He just wanted a serious chat with his friend. But he always did have an eye for the drama, didn't he?

15. "Anderson, Turn The Other Way: You're Putting Me Off!"

One of the first encounters we see between Sherlock Holmes and Scotland Yard, the forensics team - well one member especially - clash with Sherlock during a sweep of 221B. It becomes a running joke that Anderson and Holmes don't get on, but in this scene, Sherlock really takes the rivalry to another level when he asks Anderson to face the other way, as he's putting him off. Anderson's bemused, but when Lestrade joins Sherlock's side, asking him to do the same, poor old Anderson is left humiliated. The relationship between the two is brilliant early on in the series, and in 'His Last Vow', Anderson returns to search Sherlock's flat, this time for his own good, and not for revenge.
