The Simpsons: 12 Guest Stars Who Surprisingly Parodied Themselves

10. Mickey Rooney

Episode: Radioactive Man When the auditions for a Radioactive Man movie are cast in Springfield, Milhouse narrowly beats Bart to the part of the hero's sidekick, Fallout Boy, but it isn't long before the pressures of fame - all those early mornings and endless retakes - force him to run away from the production and hide in Bart's treehouse. Bart can't believe his friend has turned his back on a blockbuster role but Milhouse, the jaded film star, has seen Hollywood for what it really is. Suddenly, who should come falling through the treehouse window but former child star Mickey Rooney. Of all people, surely he can sympathise with Milhouse's meltdown - or at least find the right words to convince him to return? Not exactly. He does little to persuade Milhouse (in fact, he steals his job - squeezing himself into a Fallout Boy costume) before a helicopter pilot yells ''Hurry, Mr Rooney! We've got a disenchanted little girl in a Jell-O Pudding commercial!'' Barely missing a beat, the desperate septuagenarian beams ''I could play that'' before disappearing back into the helicopter.
