The Simpsons: 20 Awesome Easter Eggs And References

1. Uncredited Celebrities

Episode: Lisa's Substitute (S2, E19) & Stark Raving Dad (S3, E1) Many celebrities flock to lend their voices and likenesses to episodes of everyone's favorite cartoon but sometimes they are prevented by contractual obligations. Like with most things, there is a way around these silly legal bindings as was proven by Dustin Hoffman and Michael Jackson. Both these famous superstars made cameos in episodes but went uncredited. Hoffman appears in the credits under the pseudonym Sam Etic while MJ uses John Jay Smith. The episodes both contain many Easter Eggs and references hinting to the fact that the men behind the drawings are actually the celebs they sound like and not just impersonators. For example, Hoffman's substitute teacher Mr Bergstrom is put in this Graduate-esque scenario with sexual-predator Mrs Krabappel. The Simpsons staff then craft an Easter Egg to their own Easter Egg in 'Itchy & Scratchy: The Movie' when Lisa says 'it was the greatest movie I've ever seen in my life! And you wouldn't believe the celebrities who did cameos. Dustin Hoffman, Michael Jackson ... of course they didn't use their real names, but you could tell it was them."
