In this 2006 couch gag, we see a slideshow of the family over the years, which reveal Homer's death, Marge's second and third marriages to Lenny and Jimbo, Carl and Lenny taking over the rearing of the kids and eventually a metal Homer returning to the family who all eventually become robots. The final photo was captioned 2013 so we don't know if the creators assumed they'd be cancelled by then or were hoping for some kind of Futurama mashup...
