Sons Of Anarchy 7.2 - 5 Talking Points From "Toil And Till"

5. Unser Is Back On Duty

In some ways it feels like former police chief Wayne Unser, he of terminal cancer, may actually end up being the last man standing when all is said and done. As probable as that seems, Unser has proven to be a survivor thus far and has always managed to stay on the club€™s good side while balancing the tightrope of white and black hats in an effective manner. He seems to truly want an end to the mayhem, and looks to be taking steps to ensure that happens. Accepting the position as consultant for the Charming P.D. gives him access to that the cops have on the Sons; what€™s not for certain is how he plans to use it. Is he looking to resume his old role as inside man to keep the law out of their hair, or has he sided with righteousness this time around? It feels like the latter, as if Tara€™s death was the thing that finally gave him the clarity to see how ugly the life is. Not to mention he gets the added bonus of health care coverage which is no small gift for a terminal cancer patient. With Unser holding potentially explosive pieces of information like Juice€™s whereabouts and his collusion with Gemma, plus looking into Tara€™s murder, he now becomes a wild card that could play a major role in how things shake out. Prediction: In yet another act of cold-blooded self-preservation, Gemma eventually silences her longtime admirer for good, rewarding his years of love and loyalty with a bullet in the head.
