Sons Of Anarchy 7.2 - 5 Talking Points From "Toil And Till"

3. The Significance Of Nero's Car

In €œBlack Widower€ Kurt Sutter introduced a plot thread involving one of the Grim Bastards being ran down by someone in a blue Impala, which led to the Bastards and the Sons confronting East Dub over it, since it was reported that the car was driven by one of their affiliates. The Sons supposedly tracked down the car and wound up killing three pastors and a woman, and that hasn€™t been mentioned since. But the real question is if that issue is even resolved? For those who aren€™t paying close attention, Nero Padilla also happens to drive a blue Chevy Impala. It€™s a different style than the one the club originally thought belonged to the guy they were after, but it feels like there€™s something there. There were various shots in the premiere, and another long, deliberate scene in this episode, where the camera focuses solely on Nero€™s car for no reason at all. And as we€™ve seen before, such as with the close-up of the sawed-off shotgun Jury places in the van, those shots usually end up being clues to later events. Will Nero somehow be implicated in what happened to the Grim Bastards, and if so, does that drive yet another wedge in one of SAMCRO€™s shaky alliances?
