Sons Of Anarchy: 10 Compelling Questions That Were Never Answered

4. Who Killed John Teller?

The abiding mystery of Sons Of Anarchy is one that never actually got solved. Admittedly, it didn't necessarily need solving, since John Teller's untimely death would've sparked son Jax to find his manuscript about how SAMCRO had lost its way, galvanising him into transforming the MC for the better, regardless. But still, the question remains.

Previously the obvious theory had been that Gemma and Clay conspired to kill John and seize power of SAMCRO, but Jury White floated the idea that the elder Teller might actually have killed himself in some martyrdom self-sacrifice to try and keep the MC on the level. Which obviously didn't work, and Jax ended up taking the same way out himself.

Neither Gemma nor Clay ever actually took credit for John's death, either – and the way lies get thrown around in Charming, there's no telling if they would be telling the truth if they did confess. So in the end, the reason for Jax's father's death remains unsolved, and could very well remain that way from now until eternity with the show finished.
