Sons Of Anarchy: 10 Worst Things Jax Teller Ever Did

He may have been a great character, but Jax did some simply unforgivable things.

There is no shortage of TV shows based around protagonists who really shouldn't be protagonists. Whether they are law breakers like Walter White or Marty Byrde, or just plain a**holes like Rick Sanchez or BoJack Horseman, these characters always find a way to keep audiences rooting for them.

The Sons of Anarchy are a bit of both, though without Jax Teller it's hard to see how the show would have worked. His moral compass and attempts to take his club out of the same life that got his dad killed fuelled the entire series, and gives the MC the good side they wouldn't otherwise have had.

However, by no means does this make Jax an angel. Though he may have tried to steer the club away from selling guns and living their lives outside of the law, it took equally heinous acts and deeds to get there.

There were also obstacles that kept getting in his way, and at a certain point his goal became simply getting his family away from the danger rather than stopping the danger itself.

Jax did absolutely everything necessary to achieve his goal, until eventually he forgot about his righteous path to peace and focused solely on war and vengeance with no second thought for the consequences for him or anyone else.

10. He Tried To Give Tig Over To August Marks

One of the keys to making the Sons of Anarchy a successful club was trust. The men who wore the Reaper patches were brothers and had to be prepared to take a bullet for any one of their fellow members, knowing that they would do the same for them. Jax, however, violated this trust with Tig.

When Opie shot Clay as retribution for Piney's murder, the blame was placed on the Niners. Tig, feeling guilty for refusing to stay and protect his President at the time, immediately sought revenge. He tried to run over Laroy, the leader of the Niners, but instead killed his innocent girlfriend, Veronica Pope.

Her father just so happened to be Damon Pope, a big time gangster who demanded from Jax a dead Son for his own retribution. This would ultimately be Opie, who essentially died for Tig's brashness and short-sightedness. After Pope's death, August Marks demanded Tig's death, and Jax gave him the opportunity.

He sent Tig into a trap for Marks to collect and kill him, fully expecting to never see his brother again. Instead, this turned out to be more of a test of loyalty from Marks, and Tig was kept alive. It's understandable that Jax struggled to forgive Tig for indirectly causing Opie's death, but there were a lot of other factors that went into it. And trying to send him to his death, likely preceded by a round of torture, was pretty shocking.
