10. The Prison Crucifix Murder

It turns out that Kurt Sutter, showrunner and principal writer of Sons Of Anarchy, isn't a bad actor either. Although he does somewhat typecast himself as vicious serial killers. That's the recurring role he had on The Shield, and Sutter gives himself a similar part to play in Sons Of Anarchy, as unhinged and imprisoned SAMCRO member Otto.

Otto pops up a few times throughout the series; usually to stir up trouble, often at the behest of Gemma. It's in the season five episode “Crucifixed” where he manages to both help and totally screw over SAMCRO, as a hospitalised Otto convinces Tara that, in his hour of need, he could really do with this old crucifix his mother left for him.

He promptly uses that crucifix to stab his nurse to death, in an incredibly bloody and brutal fashion, thus landing Tara in jail and loosing the nurse's brother – a vengeful US Marshall – on the trail of the Sons. The consequences are pretty major, yes, but the real “WTF” moment is Otto just stabbing that poor nurse over and over and oh god, so much blood.
