Paris is depicted as stupid and spoiled as Matt & Trey can get away with, and upon the suicide of yet another pet dog, Paris decides she wants to buy a child to keep as a pet and dress in a bear outfit. And Butters is caught as the unlucky child in her crosshairs.
After being grounded (again) for having an older "girlfriend", Paris offers hundreds of millions of dollars for their son. And Butters not being able to dig up enough coal to cover the offer meant he was sent off to live with the heiress. When Paris gets too clingy and after seeing her book of doggy suicides, Butters bolts to anywhere he can.
How demoralizing must it be to know your parents value cold hard cash over your own flesh and blood? But I guess that's just a daily occurance for little Butters.
