9. I.Q. Test (Star Trek: The Next Generation)
Every season of Star Trek: The Next Generation has episodes starring John De Lancie as Q. Every season. Except season five that is. Because both the stories for season five had some serious problems were shelved. This is the story of one of those episodes, I.Q. Test. Otherwise known as the Q Olympics episode. I wish I was kidding. Thankful Michael Piller can be thanked for canning this idea which was made by Herb Wright and an unnamed co-writer (who has probably kept their name under wraps due to the shame of it). Basically Q and another member of the Q-continuum decide to have an Olympic type duel using two teams of athletes. You guessed it, the Enterprise crew was our Q's choice, while the other Q chose a new race called the Zaa-Naar. Ronald D. Moore later described the idea as "ludicrous" and said that Piller was right to dump it. And if to make matters worse, a rumour got around that none other than Arnold Schwarzenegger was due to appear in the episode. In the same AOL Chat as before, Ron Moore said that "There was never ever any chance that Arnold was going to appear on the show." Phew. We'll have to wait for till Voyager's Tsunkatse before we get scenes like that.
