Star Trek: 10 Things You Didn't Know About Q

The comics can often be a grounds that even dyed in the wool fans will not face, and not for entirely unfair reasons. Some art styles don't do the world and characters of Trek justice, and since most comic series aren't considered canon it can feel weird to go into a story knowing that, in a sense, none of it really matters.

But this does mean you miss out on some delightful little stories, even if you have to accept the fact that they're even further into the land of make-believe than usual. One of these wonderful stories is "Star Trek: The Q Conflict", and it is wonderful because it's essentially licensed fanfiction.

In this story, Q travels through time and space to bring together the two crews of the Enterprise, as well as those of the Voyager and Defiant. While the fact that they existed in vastly different times means this feels very fan-indulgent, it's undeniably fun to watch Q craft his own Battle Royale scenario with all the teams you love.

This is doubly true because the "teams" that Q creates aren't just the various ship crews, but rather different crews all mixed together, which creates some undeniably bizarre pair-ups.

I like my comics like I like my coffee - in huge, unquestionably unhealthy doses.
