Star Trek: 10 Things You Need To Be The Ultimate Starfleet Captain

7. A Catchphrase

Star Trek Voyager Kate Mulgrew "Chief, we need a cross modulation of the phaser array. Could you do that for me, pretty please?" Not going to work, is it? Not even close. If you are going to be giving orders on which the fate of the galaxy balances precariously, you need to sound like you mean it. Picard had "Make it so". Janeway had "Do it". Kirk had "Helm, warp factor two". You need something that people will remember, just a quick, to the point grouping of words that lets everyone know you mean business. No one should be questioning your resolve, ever. Of course, if you're Benjamin Sisko you don't need a catchphrase since you're too busy kicking ass in the Gamma Quadrant to worry about silly things like words. There's only one Sisko though, so you'd better not go that route.
