Star Trek: 10 Times Aliens Influenced Human History

The Animated Series episode The Magicks Of Megas-Tu is an absolute trip. The Enterprise somehow reached the centre of the galaxy, much like in Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, except instead of the mythical planet Sha Ka Ree from that film, they instead found the entrance to an alternate reality where magic replaced science.

As they arrived, they were greeted by a horned satyr-like man who was later revealed to be the actual Lucifer from Earth's legends, apparently a member of the alien species the Megans, magical creatures who visited Earth throughout it's history but were always treated poorly.

When they first arrived and showed their magical powers, evil Humans tried to control them for their own purposes. When they refused, the Humans taught others to fear and hate them as "devils." They arrived later in Salem, Massachusetts, but tried to hide their powers this time. Unfortunately, they accidentally revealed their secret and ended up burning as witches in the Salem Witch Trials (the real-life trials of people falsely accused of witchcraft in Salem starting in 1692).

Eventually, after Kirk decided to show compassion to Lucifer himself, the Megans were convinced that humanity had changed since those times and agreed to forgive them.
