Star Trek: 20 Essential Gifts For Trekkies

20. A Very Klingon Khristmas

A Very Klingon Khristmas Likely to be a popular choice this year, so you might want to check with your other loved ones to make sure a certain Trekkie doesn't get multiple copies! The book has the story of the birth of Kahless and contains a description of the seasonal Klingon traditions €“ all in rhyming verse! Books have been created in the Klingon language before, in particular there has been works of Shakespeare translated. But it isn't the case here as it's all in English, but just about the Klingons. Naturally nothing you read here is canon, but it's not like we look at Dicken's A Christmas Carol for it's historically accurate portrayal of England! Highlights include leaving stockings filled with tribbles for naughty Klingon children and the tale of the Klingon version of Santa. It is fully illustrated and a must for any fan of the citizens of Qo'noS. Amazon have the book for £7.19, including free shipping.

19. Klingon Bird Of Prey Corkscrew

Bird Of Prey Corkscrew Following up on our previous Klingon related item, we have another. This time it is a corkscrew based around a Klingon Bird of Prey. I've previously talked about the design of the USS Enterprise pizza cutter, and it seems that this follows a similar theme. The design does make it look reminiscent of a typical bottle opener. The arms don't move up and down, and the design isn't all that detailed, but it is a little more practical possibly than the pizza cutter. Plus, with it being based on the Bird of Prey, it is both slightly cooler and potentially more likely that they won't have the object that isn't based on the Enterprise. But I'm personally not quite so fond of it as I always think of a Bird of Prey as a very three dimensional vessel with a lot of angles, and this corkscrew comes across as a very flat design. Forbidden Planet has it listed at their website for a penny under a tenner, at £9.99.

I'm a pop culture addict. Television, cinema, comics, games - you name it, and I've done it. Or at least read the plot synopsis on Wikipedia.
