Star Trek: 8 Easter Eggs From The Picard Season 2 Trailer
7. There May Be A Reckoning
Probably the single most intriguing item in Picard's study is the remains of the Bajoran artifact known as the Reckoning Tablet.
The Reckoning Tablet appeared in the aptly titled Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode "The Reckoning" and was smashed by the Emissary himself, Captain Benjamin Sisko, unleashing an evil Pah-wraith on space station Deep Space 9.
How the ancient Bajoran artifact will play into Star Trek: Picard is a mystery, but its inclusion here clearly indicates that season two will connect back to Star Trek: Deep Space Nine in some way, after season one so deftly wove threads from Star Trek: Voyager into its narrative.
In "The Reckoning", the tablet was itself a mystery and our Starfleet heroes were only able to translate two symbols carved into its face: "Welcome, Emissary".
While Avery Brooks hasn't acted in several years, he has said that he is not retired and would return to Hollywood for the right role, raising the question, will Star Trek: Picard season two feature the return Brooks to acting and the Emissary to the Alpha Quadrant?
