Kitumba
This was intended to be a two part episode, which would have result in some drastic changes to the Klingon race. Essentially the basis for who the Klingons were would have been different because the intention was to make them into samurai. In the same way that the Romulans were meant to be Romans. So with the samurai Klingons, throw out your ideas of Emperor Kahless because they aren't here anymore. In fact throw out the entire planet, there's no such thing as Qo'noS either. In fact, they aren't even Klingons. Confused? You should be. In Kitumba it is established that the race we previously thought were called Klingons but this actually the name of their warrior caste. The cast for science and technology are called the technos, and all others are simply subjects. There is still a High Council, but no Emperor in name, instead that role lies with the Kitumba. But the Kitumba is a spiritual and ceremonial role. Instead, the Warlord of the race has all the power. I said they threw out Qo'noS, didn't I? Well the home planets (yes, planets) of the race are known as Ultar, while an inner planet is the sacred planet for the Kitumba. Neither planet is defended because they believe that their species are undefeatable. So on with the plot, basically, the Enterprise travels deep into Klingon (well I don't what else to call them) space to return the former teacher of the new Kitumba. The teacher defects to prevent all out war between the Klingons and the Federation and the Enterprise crew must try to convince the Kitumba to speak out against attacking the Federation, ending the tradition of non-interference with the Warlord.
