13. Star Chart

Very easy to miss, this one.

For those of you wondering what the state of the galaxy was from a political or military perspective, the answer is in the trailer, sort of. On the displays on the Admiral's wall, a star chart of the Alpha Quadrant can just about be seen behind Picard. Based on the loose colouration of certain aspects, it fits almost identically with the official star chart released a number of years ago.

Despite the destruction of their homeworld the Romulans still maintain a noticeable presence with the distinctive green colouring in the top right corner, while the Klingons also seem to be doing fine with plenty of red in the bottom right.

The light on the screen makes it tricky to see precisely what state the Cardassian Union is in but, given the passage of time from the ending of Deep Space 9 (refresher; their home-world was decimated by the Dominion and the ruling government almost entirely collapsed), it's possible they may have returned to something resembling a position strength.

Bottom line, this is the Star Trek universe you're familiar with.
