Star Trek Picard: 8 Things Everyone Missed In The Final Trailer

3. Those Are Starfleet Ships

A sneaky one this and even possibly something CBS might not have wanted to happen. That brief shot of several ships tearing down the side of a Starfleet Starbase, weapons firing, has been seen in a number of trailers and TV spots previously, but this time it appears to have either been edited differently or, possibly, finally shown with its true rendering.

In all previous appearances, those ships carried no visual markings. This time out, they are covered in Starfleet emblems. For all the talk during production that Picard's story would see our titular hero waving goodbye to his former employers to undertake a mission free of their oversight, we're now seeing increasing evidence of their importance to the story.

Given we've previously seen this same shot with the Starbase on fire behind them, whether or not they're repelling other attackers or engaging in some Federation infighting remains to be seen. Previous suggestions that they've been of Romulan origin now look to be well wide of the mark.
