Picard Seven Of Nine Borg Sphere
CBS

On the way to Deep Space 12, Picard's subspace link to Starfleet Command has been established and he's talking to a holographic projection of Admiral Kirsten Clancy in his holographic study. Just like in her first appearance in "Maps and Legends", Clancy gets to drop an F-bomb, because she's a cool admiral.

This type of holo-communication is typical in Star Trek: Discovery (which is set in the 23rd century) but relatively rare in The Next Generation-era series. Deep Space Nine established 24th century holo-communicators in the episodes "For the Uniform" and "Doctor Bashir, I Presume", but they apparently fell into disuse.

Captain Pike expressed his distaste for the technology in the Discovery episode "An Obol for Charon", saying the projections looked like ghosts.
