Star Trek Picard: Every Easter Egg & Hidden Reference From 'The Impossible Box'
13. Smooth Operating System
Speaking of Picard's computer display... the interface is labeled "Library Computer Access/Retrieval System", which was Starfleet's operating system in the 24th century.
Designed by Michael Okuda and cheekily referred to as "Okudagrams" behind the scenes, these blacklit graphics showed up in all late-80s and 90s Star Trek productions.
The LCARS interfaces in Star Trek: Picard have been updated with new color schemes and styles, and they've been upgraded to include holographic displays, but the new art department has faithfully recreated the basic look established by Okuda in Star Trek: The Next Generation.
