Star Trek Picard: Every Season One Death Ranked

2. Hugh

Star Trek Picard Deaths

When Icheb died, you could have been forgiven for thinking that Picard was through with making former Borg suffer for their very existence, but then along came Hugh's death pretty much out of nowhere to turn the world upside down.

It was rather fitting for the former Collective drone to die in the service of the synthetic cause, to be frank and as soon as the show's level of peril was dialled up, it looked like he was in danger. After all, returning characters who don't have their name above the door are always going to be a little disposable.

But that doesn't mean Hugh's death wasn't very sad. Killed by Narissa the professional bitch - thanks to a pointy projectile to the neck - Hugh died in Elnor's arms, thanking him for allowing him to be a "hopeful fool" again. Ultimately, he gave up his individuality to protect the rights of synthetics to the same thing. A hero.
