Star Trek: Ranking The Series Intros Worst To Best

6. #6: Lower Decks

The appeal and strength of Lower Decks as a series is its incessant, rapid-fire Easter eggs, callbacks, and maniacal preoccupation with Star Trek canon and lore. To that end, its intro is a total success.

It takes the most compelling elements of previous Star Trek intros and blends them with its own light-hearted humor. We have exotic cosmic backdrops. There’s a drumming score rich with brass and strings. Every shot spotlights the USS Cerritos, though the starship is mostly making a hash of things in each. And overall, there’s a sense that this is a series with something happening.

In a nutshell, the intro for Lower Decks is, all on its own, something entertaining to watch. It rewards fans while also amusing and possibly retaining new viewers, too.
