Star Trek: The Next Generation Blu-ray Sampler Coming Soon!

Will include first season episodes Encounter At Far Point (Parts 1 & 2), Inner Light and Sins of the Father.

As spotted by Herc at AICN, deep down in Bill Hunt's latest column in The Digital Bits, his sources claim a sampler disc of four classic Star Trek: The Next Generation episodes will be hitting Blu-ray this autumn in the U.S. Why they won't release the whole series or if not finished yet, wait until the whole series is done and release them then is beyond me, but here's what they say;
In other news, we've gotten a bit of clarification from our sources on CBS's in-progress Star Trek: The Next Generation - Remastered Blu-ray sampler disc. The disc will include FOUR episodes, two of which will include Encounter at Farpoint, Parts 1 and 2. We're told that the other two should be The Inner Light and Sins of the Father.
I suppose because it was the two part opening of the new Star Trek Generation they have to include Encounter At Farpoint which isn't the greatest episode and wouldn't exactly be one I would be desperate to showcase in Blu-ray given the decades outdated special effects and how time hasn't at all been kind to that first season, especially the early episodes. Inner Light (Picard centric) and Ronald D. Moore's Sins of the Father (Worf episode) are great choices but again... why not release the whole thing in Blu damnit!
