Look, Q is Q. Do we really have to spend a lot of time talking about why he’s one of the better characters on the show? He’s Star Trek’s version of Loki. The ever-present trickster. And he’s a perfect foil for the stiff and proper Jean Luc Picard.

It’s his interactions with Picard where Q really shines. Q can push Picard in a way that no other characters do. He forces Jean Luc to face his flaws like pride, or his reluctance to accept his past. Q is also the best antagonist throughout the entire series. And if you think otherwise, well you’re wrong.
