Star Trek: Voyager - 10 Most Anxiety-Inducing Episodes
6. The Killing Game Parts 1 & 2
Just putting it out there, but Voyager has some of the best two-parter episodes in the Star Trek universe, with this one being right up there. Voyager has been taken over by the Hirogen and every crewmember is being hunted through different holodeck programs.
We learn crewmembers have been killed and severely injured during these games and we realise that this is a life or death situation for the Voyager crew, with no-one being safe. As each game is played out we become more and more anxious as our favourite crewmembers are hunted throughout their own ship.
None of the crew is aware of what is happening until Seven and Janeway begin to realise not all is as it seems. They then attempt to take back the ship while ensuring the Hirogen are unaware that they know.
As the plan is put into action the Hirogen become suspicious and the crew is almost prevented from taking back the ship. But no-one messes with Voyager, and Janeway and her crew take back their ship, ending the Hirogen's game. It's an intense episode that gives us a great appreciation for holodeck safety protocols and the fact we are not in the Delta Quadrant.
