Star Wars: 10 Things In Disney+'s Obi-Wan Kenobi That Make No Sense
9. Why Did It Take So Long To Open The Path Gate?
Because Episode IV was so underwhelming, many viewers were worried the Obi-Wan Kenobi series wouldn't be able to recover.
Thankfully, Episode V reset the course by giving viewers everything they wanted. We finally learned Reva's backstory and saw her develop as a character. Darth Vader got the chance to cut loose, giving viewers one of the coolest scenes in Star Wars history.
Having said that, this episode suffers from a couple of gripes we can't overlook. After Vader's forces track down The Path's hideout, Reva orders the Stormtroopers to use a Heavy Gun to rip apart the blast door. Obi-Wan tells The Path leader, Roken, the Imperials should break through within the hour.
When the titular character fails to stall Reva, she uses her lightsaber to slice through the door, deactivating the lock mechanism.
Which begs the question - why didn't she use her weapon sooner? Why did she waste an hour when she could have hacked through the door in a couple of seconds?
I mean, it's literally a laser sword! It's not like she isn't aware of her lightsaber's cutting capabilities.
