3. Echo's Loyalties

There's a common saying in storytelling: Show, don't tell. For example, if you want to establish that a character is loyal, have them stand by their friend's side and act loyally, don't just name them Loyolis and call it a day. (Yes, this actually happened in Marvel's Inhumans series.)

Last episode, Clone Wars failed to show Echo acting any differently after he was saved from captivity. He and Rex share some tender moments, and he's quite helpful in escaping Skako Minor. Aside from more scars and fewer hands, he seems to be the same clone from the Citadel.

However, the beginning of this episode seems to suggest that Echo might still be under Separatist control. It's addressed in the opening narration, and the Bad Batch act like Echo has been acting strange this whole time. We the audience never see that, and have to take their word for it. It's much more effective storytelling to show some peculiarities in Echo during the last few episodes rather than imply them.
