Stargate: Every Villain Ranked Worst To Best
9. Apophis
The extremely cheesy and loveable villain that kicked off Stargate SG-1 (and the entire television franchise after the movie), Apophis was the first of the Goa'uld System Lords to pose a threat to the newly formed Stargate Command. His casual collection of new potential hosts on Earth was the instigating incident for the entire narrative of SG-1 and if he'd just decided to skip out on us that day, we wouldn't have had this whole TV empire.
Apophis (played by Peter Williams) was tyrannical, often overblown and egotistical, setting up the model for what we'd expect from a Goa'uld System Lord. His attempts to attack the SGC and Earth at large would always end in failure and he would be driven back time and time again, losing everything. He would eventually be set upon by Sokar, who would in turn be murdered by the resurgent Apophis.
Apophis was great fun and even his final death at the hands (claws, really) of the Replicators didn't stop his reappearances time and again in a variety of flashbacks, dream sequences and alternate timelines.
