When it comes to Stranger Things, the introduction of Max Mayfield in season two was major in providing the audience with a new characters' perspective. With Eleven presumably missing after battling the Demogorgon in season one, the new role of Max added a new and different dynamic to the regular cast.
At first, Max's arrival at Hawkins had very mixed reactions from our regular ensemble of D&D geeks. Lucas enjoyed Max's company and even developed a crush on her, whereas Mike was annoyed that another girl was hanging out with the group, as he was still recovering from Eleven's disappearance. But by the end of season two, everyone, including Mike, had come to recognise Max as a valuable member of the friend group.
