Stranger Things Season 2: 9 Big Questions After The Super Bowl Spot
8. What's Happening To Will?
Poor Will. Having been taken to the Upside Down and having who-knows-what kind of pain and misery inflicted upon him in the first season, you'd think he'd get a chance just to spend some time with his friends, playing table-top games and dressing up as Ghostbusters.
But no. Will is once again destined to miss out on all the fun (he doesn't appear in another shot of the boys on their bikes either), meaning he is definitely the Stranger Things version of Doug from The Hangover (only with a rather than alcohol to blame).
Here, he's seen in a lab being experimented on. He was in the Upside Down for a long time, so it's probably safe to assume they're after information about it, though the nature of these tests - and exactly what they hope to find - remains a mystery. Similarly, we don't know exactly who is behind this, but it's probably a safe bet the Department of Energy are invovled again.
