Like Paul Reiser, Sean Astin is a great bit of meta-casting for the show, but his role far exceeds just being a Goonies gag.

When we first meet Bob it seems like there might be more to him than meets the eye and that he can't fully be trusted, but over the course of eight episodes he wins our trust and our hearts.

He's genuinely just a good guy, one who's funny, kinda dorky, cares deeply for Joyce, and is eminently likeable. And then, of course, he gets eaten by a pack of Demodogs.
