Stranger Things Season 3: Ranking Every Character From Worst To Best
8. Will Byers
Will Byers is, without a doubt, the heart and soul of Stranger Things, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's received the screen-time he deserves.
Limited by the fact that the first season centred on his disappearance, he spent most of the time off-screen and it was only in Season 2 that he was finally welcomed into the show as a full-time character, as his connection to the Upside Down ultimately saw him take centre stage. Season 3, however, was rather indecisive on how to use him.
The first half had the beginnings of some great character work, allowing Noah Schnapp to sink his teeth into some rather powerful moments as Will struggled with the fact that his friends were growing up, but the second used his connection to the Mind Flayer to force him into the background (if he wasn't forewarning of the creature's arrival, he wasn't doing anything) - and that feels like a missed opportunity.
