Supergirl Season 4: 4 Ups & 1 Down From 'Parasite Lost'

Last week's reveal that Colonel Lauren Haley was joining the fray to keep a close eye on Alex promised to set up an interesting dynamic. After all, Alex had finally ascended to the position of D.E.O. Director and now, only four episodes in, her promotion was under attack from the new president.

However, this week's outing pleasantly surprised us as Alex and Colonel Haley worked incredibly well together as a unit, with little to no tension between them at all. In fact, Alex even disobeyed Haley's commands to take out Parasite as it would kill hundreds of people, ultimately getting the job done her own way, and she even received praise from her superior. However, the writers would then throw a genuinely shocking curveball, revealing that the Colonel also perceived aliens to be imposters.

Thus, the person overseeing the D.E.O. effectively stands for everything that the organisation stands against and her comments about J'onn J'onzz destroyed the rapport that she and Alex somehow managed to build. With an anti-alien bigot as her superior officer, it's going to be very interesting to see how Alex, and Supergirl, will deal with Haley moving forward.
