Supergirl Season 4: 5 Ups & 4 Downs From ‘Crime And Punishment’

4. Ben Lockwood Is A Threat Again

With Lex Luthor's introduction and the Red Daughter's arrival, it's safe to say that recent episodes have threatened to undermine this season's actual Big Bad, Ben Lockwood a.k.a. Agent Liberty.

Originally a masked avenger, Liberty bred fear among humans and violently killed countless innocent aliens due to his bigotry, and his mission inspired misguided followers who would go on to become the Children of Liberty.

With Lockwood now in charge of the manhunt for Supergirl, this week's episode finally reminded viewers just how imposing the character can be (no matter which attire he is wearing) and, as the closing moments highlighted, it's only going to get worse from here on out now that the president has officially deputized the Children of Liberty.

Though Lex pulled the strings, it doesn't change the fact that Agent Liberty is this season's primary villain and, after he suffered from a little misdirection, it's great to see that he is once again a force to be reckoned with as we approach the season finale.
