Supernatural Cast: Where Are They Now?

Delving into the careers of those who made Supernatural the phenomenon it was.

Supernatural cast
The CW

Over fifteen years came fifteen seasons of Supernatural, a benchmark for fantasy television dramas. Stemming from the brilliantly creative mind of Eric Kripke, the series proved such a success with viewers that he actually departed the series just one-third of the way through, having concluded its main storyline.

However, Supernatural continued down its profitable path well beyond Eric Kripke's time as showrunner.

On paper, the plot couldn't have been more basic. Two brothers - Sam and Dean Winchester - served as the series' protagonists, chasing all manner of mythical creatures along the way. Naturally, there was a ton more to it, but this served as the core element of the show; the element that was Supernatural's resultant triumph.

Eric Kripke's idea - although with Andrew Dabb and Robert Singer now as showrunners - officially ended on 19 November 2020. 1.38 million viewers tuned in to send the Winchester brothers down the wayward road one final time.

Since then, the main cast, as well as its recurring ensemble, have appeared in a variety of television shows, movies, and even video games, some remaining in the spotlight of other projects, while others faded into near-obscurity...

16. Ruth Connell - Rowena MacLeod

Supernatural cast
The CW

Scottish-born theatre actress Ruth Connell starred predominantly as Rowena MacLeod, an immortal witch who is revealed to be the mother of Crowley. Supernatural lore presents her as an abusive mother throughout Crowley's childhood, ultimately abandoning him altogether.

Connell's tenure as Rowena, where she appeared in a combined 33 episodes, made Ruth one of the longest-serving actresses in the show's history. For comparison, Felicia Day is only credited for 11 episodes; Kim Rhodes, meanwhile, starred in 19 episodes of Supernatural.

Having made her final Supernatural appearance in season fifteen's Our Father, Who Aren't In Heaven, Ruth Connell has starred in only three released productions as of this writing. She appeared as Bonnie in the 2020 horror thriller The Cursed Man, and as an unnamed night nurse in an episode of Doom Patrol.

Additionally, the 42-year-old actress provided numerous voices for the 2021 Netflix animation, The Loud House Movie. She starred alongside Asher Bishop and David Tennant, as she voiced the characters of an unnamed car driver and the owner of the chip shoppe, amongst others.

With regards to her upcoming work, Ruth's name is currently linked to three further productions. At present, Connell is in the middle of filming Dead Boy Detectives, an action-adventure comedy penned by Matt Wagner, Neil Gaiman, and Steve Yockey.
