That '70s Show: All Seasons Ranked Worst To Best
1. Season Two
Best Episode: Cat Fight Club
That 70s Show was at its pinnacle in its second year. The characters were fully developed and the tone of the series was established, so it was just a case of creating more wild outings for the troublesome teens to experience. There’s not a single bad episode to be found as each one of them is a perfect combination of plot, ensemble and comedy.
Season two had a little bit of everything. It was the beginning of Stephen’s residence at the Formans which allowed for the incident where the Forman and Pinciotti parents get high off special brownies.
It had the hilarious love triangle between Kelso, Jackie and Laurie. It birthed a huge milestone of Eric and Donna finally having sex. It was home to some of the show’s funniest parodies, from All in the Family to Charlie’s Angels. And it was one of the very few seasons to feature all the funny side characters – Laurie, Midge, Leo – before they were eventually written out.
In short, season two is the epitome of what makes That 70s Show head and shoulders above other sitcoms. It was completely immersed in the 1970s lifestyle and culture. The humour was at its sharpest and all the characters, teenage and adult, were utilised to the fullest. It was carefree and joyful, before the show developed into more serious and complex themes.
